Isabella spent the pre-4th days eating tomatoes from Papaw's garden and throwing "pop-its" with her Dad.
Lexington had their fireworks on the 3rd, so Isabella, Blaine and I went to Lexington Cemetary since it seemed to have a good view. We waited and waited, playing catch and chasing eachother and by the time 10:30pm rolled around Isabella was beyond tired and cranky and the fireworks had yet to start. Boo, Lexington!
Earlier on the 3rd we had a fish fry at Mamaw/Papaw's house. Isabella managed to convince Mamaw to take her outside to swing despite how hot it was. Luckily she had some of Daddy's pop to cool her down. :)
After a disappointing lack of fireworks on the 3rd, we thought the 4th at Aunt Susan and Paul's would be better. Paul bought fireworks--some of the big ones--for that night and all day we grilled out, ate, swam and played. An exhausting but absolutely awesome day! Unfortunately, Isabella and Mia had just woken up from a nap about the time we started the fireworks. Isabella and Summer (who's only 1) ended up inside on the couch because they were just too loud, Isabella yet again missing them. Maybe next year?
